Reviews
Great variety of products, clean, organized. Parking lot is big, lots of cashiers. Prices are ok, there is a Starbucks inside.
Picked up a few items and went to Starbucks. Our chai teas were great! They had some really cute Halloween decorations.
Kroger has high-end everything, so the quality is here, including good deals when you look. Prices are competitive yet overall slightly higher than are at value markets like Walmart. Their mark downs are their best deals, but often b/c of expiration dates. Use their app for digital deals & sale prices. Make sure to scan in their Kroger Plus bar code Shopper's Card!
Of the two local Krogers, the one in College Station and the one in Bryan, the Bryan store is better. A much larger store, It was given a facelift and made bigger the last few years.
Bigger means a greater selection of brands when it comes to foods, and both Kroger locations outshine HEB when it comes to fresher produce and floral selection. A good example is if you compare refrigerated/canned biscuits. The CS location has a very small selection vs the Bryan store.
Both Kroger locations cater to a different demographic, you'll find less college kids running around and more families and older shoppers. It's nice to sometimes get away from that kind of crowd.
What really separates the 2 Krogers is management. At the College Station store, you have a curmudgeon named Kenny, who is a horrible manager to staff and customers. The state of the store shows how a poor manager can affect a business, and it's honestly worth the extra 5 minutes to go to the better store in Bryan.
Produce selection is good, overall store is clean and well maintained, staff is nice.
The company though is another story. They use scummy tactics like raising the price of food and then giving you a card to make it "feel" like you are saving money. Don't tell me you don't get a little dopamine rush when you scan your card and the price goes down. It's on purpose. Then they will plaster special prices on food, in my case some fruit, you think you're getting a good deal and you go to the checkout only to find out that it's a DIGITAL deal. Why? Why can't I just have it at that price? I am in your store already, I'm making purchases. Why do I have to download an app to get the price plastered on the big sign next to the fruit?
Definitely not my main store.
Otherwise it's fine. It's just a grocery store.
The employees who pack your pick up orders are careless. They give you moldy fruit, expired meats. I got private select brand potatoes opened, who knows how many hands were all over it or how many fell out of the packaging. If you want to shop here you're better off going inside and getting your groceries yourself. This isn't the first time my orders have been trash. They will smash your bread, pop open your chip bags. Give you bruised apples etc.
Clean and well organized.
Helpful staff.
Sale merchandise in stock.
The parking is always packed here but it never causes slow checkout times. They have the best floral department and wonderful prices. The isles are always clean, organized, and well stocked
